Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 10, 2026.
True Search is operated by Indusbridge Digital. We built True Search to give you better search results without selling you out. This policy explains exactly what we do and don't collect.
What we don't do
- We don't require an account, email address or any sign-up.
- We don't set tracking cookies, fingerprint your browser, or run third-party analytics.
- We don't sell, rent or share your data with anyone.
- We don't build a profile of you, your interests, or your search history.
- We don't share your IP address or query with Google directly — your browser never talks to Google.
What stays in your browser
The following are stored only in your browser's localStorage on your device. We have no copy of them on our servers:
- Search history — your last few searches, used to populate autocomplete suggestions.
- Preferences — theme (light/dark/auto), language, SafeSearch setting, results layout, results-per-page choice and active filter selections.
You can wipe all of this anytime from Settings → Search history → Clear, or by clearing your browser's site data for truesearch.site.
What our server sees (briefly)
When you submit a search, your browser sends the query to our server, which forwards it to the Brave Search API to retrieve results. As part of normal HTTP operation, our server temporarily processes:
- The search query and standard parameters (language, SafeSearch level, page number).
- Your IP address and User-Agent string (used only to route the response back and detect abuse — not stored long-term).
We retain operational request logs for a short period (typically less than 14 days) for debugging, abuse prevention and uptime monitoring. We do not link these logs to any user identity, and they are not used for advertising or profiling.
AI Answer card
When the AI Answer is generated, your search query and snippets from the top public organic results are sent to Groq (model: Llama 3.3 70B) for summarization. Groq processes the request under their own privacy policy. We don't include any user identifier in the request.
Weather location
If you search for a bare term like weather, your browser will prompt you for one-time location access. If you allow it, the coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to resolve a city name, then the query is rewritten as "weather in [City]". We do not store your coordinates and we do not send them to Google. If you deny access, the original query runs unchanged.
Voice search
Voice input uses your browser's built-in Web Speech API. Audio is processed by your browser/operating system and only the resulting text reaches us — exactly as if you had typed it.
Third-party services
True Search relies on these third parties to deliver the Service:
- Brave Search — provides the underlying web, image, and news index (privacy policy).
- Groq — generates AI answer summaries (privacy policy).
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — reverse-geocodes weather queries (privacy policy).
Linked search results are served from third-party websites. We do not control their privacy practices; please consult their policies before submitting any personal information.
Children
True Search is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone in that age group. If you believe a child has used the Service in a way that involved personal data, contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
